Enhancing fire safety compliance and the long-term performance of key campus assets, this project delivered cladding remediation works to the H70 Abercrombie Business School and G09 Noel Martin Sports Centre as part of the University of Sydney's Cladding Replacement Program.
A key project requirement was maintaining full building functionality throughout construction, requiring careful planning, staging and stakeholder coordination to minimise disruption to students, staff and facility users.
At H70, RCCI completed sprinkler system modifications prior to the removal of combustible materials, including the replacement of existing soffit cladding, substructure framing and parapet capping with compliant systems.
Works at G09 involved the removal of existing sandwich panels and combustible cappings and the installation of new compliant façade elements. Delivered under a design and construct model, the project successfully upgraded the fire performance, durability and compliance of both buildings while ensuring their continued operation within the active university environment.
