The project delivers ACP remediation works on two mixed-use buildings, Block D and Block F, at UNSW's Paddington Campus, which accommodate workshops, studios, research areas, and student and administration spaces. Constructed with reinforced concrete frames, the façades include concrete, aluminium composite cladding, and glazed curtain walls.
The works involved the removal of façade elements to eliminate combustible materials, installation of non-combustible cladding with updated structural, thermal, and durability performance, and design or strengthening of façade substructures as required.
Primary steel structures were treated to remove corrosion, reinstate protective layers, and repair material loss. All non-combustible façade elements were reinstated and made good, delivering a compliant, durable, and safe building envelope while maintaining ongoing campus functionality.
