MQU Sports Pavilion

The Macquarie University Sports Pavilion redevelopment transforms a key community and sporting asset, delivering contemporary facilities to support multiple sporting codes, local schools and the wider University community.

Designed by Crawfords Architects, the project comprises a comprehensive pavilion fitout including four new player change rooms, upgraded amenities, flexible function spaces, a commercial kitchen, operable walls and enhanced spectator and operational facilities.

The redevelopment has been carefully planned to support the continued growth of women's sport, providing dedicated amenities for the AFL Women's program while improving comfort, privacy and accessibility for all users. A new coaches' box with upgraded communications infrastructure and improved sightlines strengthens game-day operations, while modernised player facilities create professional environments for training, recovery and performance.

The completed pavilion provides a versatile, fit-for-purpose venue that enhances the sporting, recreational and community experience at Macquarie University.

“Just wrapped up the inspection with AFL. They were stoked with the site and can now clearly visualise how everything is coming together, especially the coach's box, the view over the oval and the new change rooms. A big shoutout to your site team for maintaining a clean and safe work environment. The AFL team mentioned it's the cleanest site they have come across during their other site visits today. Great work and let's keep up the momentum and continue with the current cleaning regime.”
