The project delivers Australia's first Genome Biofoundry, a state-of-the-art laboratory requiring Physical Containment 2 certification. It includes enabling works to relocate the Synthetic Biology user group to another level, allowing Level 3 Biofoundry works to proceed.
Our scope encompasses full design, coordination of the REF approval process and complete fitout, including procurement of all joinery, furniture, and equipment.
The project involves working in live environments to minimise disruption to surrounding sensitive stakeholders, while upgrading services infrastructure to support ongoing operations.
Key requirements include maintaining the University's teaching and research facilities throughout construction and ensuring all laboratory systems comply with Physical Containment 2 standards, delivering a safe, functional and future-ready biofoundry environment.
